Would you leave Google for samosas?
It was 2015… wait! *checks story*
Yes, it was 15 June 2015. That was the day when Munaf’s boss confronted him and asked about The Bohri Kitchen (TBK).
TBK what? It was Munaf’s weekend project: a home-dining experience, serving the Bohra thaal (a speciality of the Bohra community). He was running it with his mom, Nafisa Kapadia.
That day Munaf was pondering over the thought of moving from Google’s Mumbai office to a foreign office. His boss caught him off-guard by asking about TBK. Both had a conversation.
An hour later, Munaf quit; to sell samosas. To work on his F&B venture.
And what was once a weekend project, is now a cloud kitchen delivering Bohri dishes to all over Mumbai.
Munaf, shared its journey in his book, How I Quit Google to Sell Samosas. Along with TBK’s story, he also shared lessons and samosa gyaan for startup founders and entrepreneurs.
And I compiled them all in a Medium article -
Ten Startup Lessons from The Bohri Kitchen
