What if I didn't procrastinate...
Heyaa
In for a short story?
It started 6-7 months ago.
I recently moved to EmailOctopus for my newsletters.
I was browsing its features when I noticed I could connect EmailOctopus to other pages and accept newsletter signups directly. Yes, pop ups can do that easily but I don't like them.
Tried the suggested options: A plugin here, some code there, a zap here, a tweak there...
But the suggested processes didn't work out. They probably would've, if I took the Pro version of all those plugins and services. :p
However, I got the idea by then, of what I needed to connect EmailOctopus to my WordPress website:
1. A free plugin to create simple contact form (there were many)
2. A free plugin to integrate the form with "other" services
And I searched for those individually, and tested a few combinations. The jugaad eventually worked out and I was able to get my newsletter signup page. Even created a live archive later.
I documented the process, I wanted to share it. I clicked, I tapped and I pressed a few keys.
The article started taking shape... And then, arrived the cloud of procrastination.
The article which hardly would've taken a week to complete, remained incomplete for 7 months... Until last night.
I published How To Create A Newsletter Sign-up Page on Your WordPress Website finally.
But not the best of my work unfortunately. If only I had poked those clouds away back then, I would (probably) have made a better and more detailed guide.
Give it a read.
Will see you with another irregular newsletter soon. 🐼
