Heyaaa!
Those who have known me for the last 3-4 years, know that I talk about my work… endlessly. I talk about my ongoing projects. And about the content I created.
Now, that doesn't mean I spill the beans. I be as discreet as not to reveal anything confidential.
So, why do I love to talk about my work?
Am I a narcissist, self-obsessed, showoff, selfish, psycho, boastful maniac? Maybe.
Sometimes I do think of myself in that way. Sometimes I have that superiority complex. When I'm proud of my work.
When I'm proud of my work, I talk about it.

OK, back to my story…
The benefits are two-fold.
One of the benefits is that it attracts more work.
Yep, the law of attraction. I started practising it some 8-9 years ago.
It’s a 5-step process:
Talk about what you want.
Think about what you want.
Reduce talking about what you don't want.
Reduce thinking about what you don't want.
And, repeat.
When you're talking and thinking about things you want, more than the things you don't want, you attract them.
It has worked for me so far.
Recently, I noticed I received three opportunities to create email content. Three email projects since the time I talked about my email outreach project earlier this month.
I choose to think I attract them... And that's exactly how I attract them.
You can reject it as a mere coincidence. You're free to.
But would you also negate the fact that the more you talk, the more people get to know what you do? And the more people get to know you, the better the chances one of those will be your next client or a referrer.
So, be proud of who you are and share what you do. It will bring you more similar projects. You’ll attract those.
OK, next benefit.
Talking about my work keeps negative thoughts at bay.
As I talk about my projects and taking pride in my work, the confidence goes up. That impostor syndrome runs away and hides in a dark corner.
There, of course, are changes needed... a little tweak here, a missed typo there, or maybe I mentioned or did something out of sync with the client's requirements.
Things happen. I know I'm not perfect.
But the more I focus on the positive side, the better off I am from the odd chances of bruising thoughts.
In fact, as I remain free from the clutches of sadness, the better I get at work.
The better I’m at work, the prouder I am. And I talk about it. The cycle repeats.
So, love thy self. Feel no remorse for being in self-love. Just don't be an annoying moron.
Bidding adieu.
Live long and prosper.
See you next week, with another story.
The secret and the law of attraction are indeed powerful. Ever since I started practicing the "believe even before you receive" rule, my life has transformed for the better. And did you know self-love is the best form of love? So, I see no harm done in beating your own trumpet and helping a few along the way who are on the rough road you once were with no one to hold your hand or guide you.
