Heyaa
Know whatās the latest going on here?
I started being active on Instagramā¦Ā again. It's my fifth inning.
Being a regular on IG has always been tough. I suck at being on-screen, and Iām no designer. I donāt even feel like doing voiceovers. Abhijeet feels better behind the screen.
Iām a textrovert you know. I can type pages and pages, but I wonāt record myself on audio or video. Itās just not my thing. I donāt like calls, too.
So, I avoided creating visual contentā¦ and being on Instagram overall.
Recently, actually, for the last 6 months, I have been passively activeā¦ mostly to grow my book blog via the bookstagram community. Donāt ask me how much it grew. Only about 20 followers. *hides in shame*
I wasnāt posting much, but just watching Reels.
Then, something changed in the last few months. I started feeling the pull to create content on Instagram. Maybe, it has something to do with the absence of Twitter and LinkedIn.
Have been creating and posting Reels almost every day now.
And you donāt have to be on camera to do so. Those months of addiction to Reels brought me somewhere. It, at least, made me notice easy Reel patterns.
You donāt even have to put a lot of design thinking. Just trying to emulate what others I doing until I have my own distinct style.
If you check my Reels, youāll notice most arenāt design-heavy. I share quote Reels. Seems easy-peasy. One video in the background and a text over it. Creating them from my existing content mostly. But I also post some Reels right at the moment.
You donāt always have to spend an hour creating one Reel. Sometimes you need to, but not daily. And except for a few, Iāve created my Reels in batches.
You still thinking how I make Reels?
My partner in prime (not a typo) has been Canva. Itās been a saviour.
I guess you reflect the same thought. Canva has made designing accessible. You can use it not only for images but also for documents and videos.
Over the years, Iāve used it for blog banners and social media posts, among other graphics. And now, I use it for my merch store.
Apart from the quote Reels, I also made tshirt promo Reels with Canva. Itās fun. Wait, I will show the videos. *opens Instagram*
Hereās one for a Barbie-themed tee:Ā
And hereās another for an Oppenheimer-themed tee:
Not that professional looking, I know. Still, I loved making them.
In the last two weeks, Iāve published 2-3 Reels daily. Those quote Reels take only about 5 minutes to make with Canva.
So far, Iām enjoying the processā¦ everything that needs to be done for Book Blabber. To be honest, itās not tiring, not at all. I even started creating blog for the merch store.
I hope Canva keeps developing and helps me grow Book Blabber (on the graphic front) without a hassle. *fingers crossed*
And thatās all for today.
Bidding adieu.
Live long and prosper.
See you next week, with another story.
