Heyaa
Itās Christmas. 1700 hours. I did my part of the celebration. Ate cake. Yesterday and today.
Food is the only thing I like about festivals. Both start with F, after all. Must be a connection. A signal that food is the only thing to be taken seriously during festivities.
Let it be. Itās done and dusted. I am not particularly religious.
And my days are almost the same. Be it a weekday or weekend. Eff-off flexibility.
This last week was quite happening btw.
Waitā¦ Now playingā¦
OK, remember that new client I mentioned? Well, I couldnāt fit the project into my routine. Submitted the last assignment for the month and buh-byed.
And a surprise came a day later. A long-time āprospectā showed signs of onboarding me as their agencyās content consultant. Did a quick assignmentā¦ and working on another one.
I might already be on. Letās see what all I need to do.
Now that I found some time for myself, I did some cleaning up for my newsletter.
The last I did was a year ago. And I lost half of my subscribers.
Wait, did I tell you about the spam attack?
It was last year Aug/Sep. Within two weeks, my subscribers went up to 1400 from 200. Yes, 200 subscribers in 5 years to 1400 in 2 weeks.
The ābombingā stopped only after I took down the sign-up page offline.
I wasnāt quite active with my newsletter back that time. Trying to be valuable isnāt in my genes, so my newsletters were infrequent.
Then, one day, it struck that Lazy Newsletter should switch to the casual vibe Abhijeet has. And I started againā¦ with stories. Through Substack this time.
A few weeks later, I got the notification that most of my subscribers werenāt even opening the emails. Spam signups.
I slashed down the list. And did the next cleaning last week.
Painful? Yes. Feels better? Yes.
So, that was that.
I even skilled up a notch last week.Ā
Actually, some months ago, I signed up for a free funnel-building tool, systeme.io. I didnāt have the faintest idea of how elaborate funnels are. I do landing pages, website content and articles, but funnellingā¦ Havenāt yet.
They provide a free video certification course. I took that.
It was, of course, all about systeme. And it cleared the concept of funnel systems, too. Not mind-blowing, still good enough for a copywriter/marketer who hasnāt ever delved into funnels.
And Iām now system-io-certified to design lead funnels.

I even found time to update my blog and made some ad creatives for my store. So, it was a wholesome week.
On that reminds me of something.
Ever happened that you wrote something and itās ranking for something different on Google?
Well, earlier this year, I published a bunch of book recommendation articles. One of them was about books on positive thinking.
Know what? That article is ranking on keywords like books on negativity, books to stop negative thinking, books to overcome negative thoughts, and bla bla bla.
Such is the power of negativity.
So, I tweaked the article titles to āresonateā with the search visitors.
I know the intent of the blog visitor is the same. They want to be more positive in life.
Butā¦ the approach is wrong.
If you think about stopping negative thoughtsā¦ youāre unintentionally focusing on your ānegative thoughts.ā On the other hand, when you think about being positive, you focus on the positive side of things.
A slight difference. And it makes a huge difference. For me, it has.
That article wasnāt a one-off example of how powerful the force of negativity is. I wrote an article on books about building confidence. It attracts those who want to get rid of self-doubt.
Again, same thing; different approach. And it can make a difference.
Will leave you today with that. Thatās all from me.
Bidding adieu.
Enjoy your day. Enjoy your holidays.
And tell me about the New Year resolutions that youāll drop two weeks into January.
Live long and prosper.
