Heyaa
How often have you seen leaders screaming, āWORK ON YOUR PASSION?ā Once every day? Twice a week? Every second online ad?
Itās too common these days, I know. Every influencer has the same message: you should find your passion and work toward it. Thatās how youāll grow.
Just the same thing over and over, in hundred different ways. People get tired of hearing after some time. I am.
Itās not that theyāre completely wrong. Thatās how theyāve grown. By finding their passion.
Itās just that many people share the incomplete truth. Itās, of course, about passionā¦ but thereās a lot more to it.
Itās a long process; a subconscious processā¦ that doesnāt start with finding your passion. Itās not like a treasure hunt. You wonāt find your passion lying in a park or in the middle of a flooded river, waiting for you to discover it. You canāt dig it out; you canāt pull it out.
Finding your passion isnāt a lightbulb moment. Oh, I loved doing that. Maybe I should do that for the rest of my life. Itās never that.
So, stop the hunt. Stop trying to find your passion!

OK, back to my storyā¦
On several occasions, friends have expressed surprise at how things always work out for me. And I always brushed the compliment, saying I got lucky or it was just a coincidence.
But thereās one thing I keep forgetting:
Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.
So, Iāll take some credit today. When something good happens to me, it isnāt always random luck. Yes, luck is at playā¦ but not always.
You know, my Book Blabber store completed one month of being online last week. And apart from a few test and gift orders, the store has received 9 orders (including one repeat customer).
The store is even attracting clicks from Google searches.
Lucky again, huh!
Maybe. Maybe not. There are many pieces to consider.
i) I love tinkering with tech tools.
ii) Iāve had close encounters with coding.
iii) Iām into copywriting for 5+ years.
iv) Iām in the marketing industry for almost 7 years.
v) Many of my friends love books. Nerds they are.
So, yeah, itās definitely not luck. Nopes. Itās more like a series of disjointed pieces all coming together to help me.
Now, can I say this is my passion? This business? Nopes. It isnāt. But surrounding myself with books definitely is. I have been into books since I was 3 years old. Maybe 4.
I have an interest in reading books, and buying books, and hoarding books. If I ever have to be left alone, itās to be in a library.
A mobile library is how you can allure and kidnap me. Okay? Make note!
Nowā¦ itās possible that two years from today, I might find another something of interest. Thatās how I am.
I might still be writing, still churning up new (and better) designs, but there is a possibility I have popped another interest out.
Today, āpassionā has become a fancy replacement for interest. And you canāt know what youāre interested in without trying something.
You never know if you like sweet or sour jellies without trying them once. You need to try and understand if something catches your interest or not.
Thatās how it is. Attracted to something? Give it a try, and see if itās gonna be your next career. You need to explore.
I saw this Reel a few days ago, in which the girl asks you to try different things instead of trying to find your passion. This Reel is what made me write this newsletterĀ
Only when you try, like 20 things, you get to know yourself better. You understand what you like and what you dislike.
And thatās exactly how you do it. You just work your way up without a plan.
Let your mind divert once in a while. Let it make an unplanned turn. Maybe you find a pouch of diamonds and become a smuggler. Who knows, it turns out to be your passion: smuggling rare diamonds. Maybe.
OK, taking your leave for today.
Bidding adieu.
Live long and prosper.
See you next week, with another story.
