Heyaa
Itās 7.19 now - my regular Sunday AM. Sleepy and sweaty, though. Ewww. I slept late last night. Sleep eluded me for some reason.
I have been waiting for this Sunday, waise. Just to write this newsletter, you knowā¦ to outpour all my bla bla bla.
But I donāt know where even to begin writing. Should I put up a high-beat song? To shake all this morning lethargy? Maybe I should. Wait!
---
Back at 7.34 AM.
This song got the job done:
By the way, I updated my Instagram bio yesterday, making it the casual me. It now reads:
āAalsi š booktrovert, taking energy from š¼ inner panda. I may not look Bengali, but I am. Pronouns: Lazy/Geeky/Teddy/Fluffy/Cushyā
Listening to the song, I realised I rarely listen to Bengali songs. I do mostly Hindi songs.
Not sure why, actually. I listen to other language songs, but havenāt come across a Bengali song that Iāve liked.
Oh, there is something else I wanted to share. I am not reading a book these days. Itās Day 6 of this shameful streak.
Saying it just to let you know that itās fine to take a break. Even if youāre an expert in something, doesnāt mean you canāt lose your mojo.
Itās not new to me, though. I have these phases where I feel more inclined to watch a movie or series than to read a book.
But this time, it feels a bit different.Ā I havenāt read anything good this month at all.
And itās really awkward, especially when I am the reading accountability partner of Arnab. One of my friends and BookBeezzz members.
He is trying to build daily reading as a habit. And he has been pretty consistent. He has missed only 4-5 days in the last 30 days.
But somewhere, I lost my streak. There just isnāt enough timeā¦ is my made-up excuse.
Apart from that, I have gone off the track again. I stopped working on my merch store. I donāt want to stop. But I have. I worked on a few other things instead.
Have kept my book blog alive somehow. Making updates here and there as it seems necessary. Need to improve site visits.Ā
I also made progress with my own book. Yes. I wrote oneā¦ a short guide, not even 100 pages long. Itās complete. Edits done. Need to take care of a few āmarketingā things now.
Hereās the cover, btw. Yes, the pre-launch campaign is online.
Cover gorgeous hai na? Anmol picked the background colour and helped with edits (cover as well as the book). I couldnāt think of anything apart from red and blackā¦ and white.
Actually, youāre among the first ones to know about this book. Except for 2-3 friends, I havenāt shared it with anyone yet.
Would you like a copy? PDF/eBook, for free? The offer is only for the pre-launch subscribers.
Sign up here and get your 100% discount code on the launch day.
I might also do a paperback later. or never. Iām yet to āplanā all the details.
Iām not a planner, you know. Not good at planning or time management. I just balance all this mess somehow.
Accepted my laziness almost 10 years ago. And have been shaping my life around it.
Ah, that reminds me of this tweet:
Laziness is my identity. Sitting on the bed around the day, in front of the screen. Whatever I do is out of sheer laziness and boredom.
I canāt outrun anyone in any race - that Iām sure.
Once, I tried my hands on a horror novella. I wanted to write a story that would have been only 20-25 pages long. Tried for 6+ months but couldnāt complete it.
Heck, I canāt even write fast. Glad that my regular clients arenāt pesky about delivering a project by EOD.
Unless some project is really urgent, they donāt check up on progress every two hours. *feels blessed*
So, lazy and proud of it. Itās like my superpower.
If you want to see that ālazy adā (from the tweet), I guess this was that:
I rarely go hard on me, you know. I find an easy way out to do things that might bring results.
Remember I shared that I have āmake Reelsā on my to-do daily? (this newsletter)Ā
Well, I am making a Reel daily. Itās bringing me results. From a reach of 200 profiles, my reach is 25K profiles per month now.
I donāt have to show my face or record anything. Just sharing one random thought or book quote daily pasted on a relevant stock video.
So, found an option thatās within my comfort zone while being one step forward towards being regular on Instagram.
Gotta build a bookstagram community if I want to take my merch store forward.
Not sure when Iām picking a new book to read, though. But thatās all from me in this newsletter.
Bidding adieu.
Live long and prosper.
See you next week, with another story.
P.S. Make sure you sign up for your copy of Be A Product book. Itās absolutely free, with a catch, of course. You have to read and leave a review. Good or bad, whatever; honest one.
If you donāt feel like having a copy, share the page with a new freelancer you think would benefit.
