Delivering Happiness [SHORT BOOK REVIEW]
Delivering Happiness is the story of Zappos and its co-founder, Tony Hsieh. It provides a glimpse of the early life of Tony and then describes his entrepreneurial journey with Zappos.
Zappos was founded in 1999 by Nick Swinmurn, as ShoeSite.com with an investment from Tony Hsieh and Alfred Lin. The site was renamed to Zappos and Tony became the CEO, later.
And this book records the mistakes, learnings and experiences of Tony, while growing up the company from almost no sales in 1999 to over $1 billion annual sales.
I wasn't reading the book to learn anything; just wanted to know the story. And yep, I am not disappointed. It was a fascinating story.
But if you're eager to know the details of e-commerce processes, this is one of the books you should read.
The book also delivers the message -
"To be happy, deliver happiness."
