Heyaa
Glad you opened the mail. You might not see me next.
Actually, Iām here for now. Not going anywhere. Itās just that the upcoming changes to Gmailās guidelines might affect my emailās deliverability.
My emails to your inbox might be affected. The news probably will affect only the top guns (5,000 or more daily message senders). Still, itās a good time to pull this email from your Promotions/Others tab to your primary Inbox tab. From your PC please.
Iāve been wondering, though, if I should move this newsletter to my verified domain. Just procrastinating.
I might wait until the last moment. I am not looking for another hassle right now. Things have been hectic this weekend.
Let it be. Let me focus on the current newsletter.
Itās Monday today. 11.46 hours. Almost noon now.
And Iām getting the first glimpse of the Sun after 7-10 days. I wasnāt missing it; I like my gloomy cold days. Itās just the general excitement around its appearance.
Not that I have any plans. I have made myself boring. Workaholic to the core.
Iāve been awake since 5 in the morning. And somehow, I felt good.
Wait! I have an achieving to share first.
I humanised an AI-written work. Not the first time, of course. It was for a client first time, though. So, now you know who to pay if your content fails to be āsatisfactorilyā human even after edits.
Changed the score from 70% AI to 97% human. On the first try.Ā
The provided content had two things that needed instant changes.
First, the lack of āhuman.ā It was written in the third person mostly. Change those to āsecondā wherever it makes sense. Need example?
Instead of āIndividuals get access to exclusive member-only content and discountsā¦ā write āYou get access to exclusive member-only content and discountsā¦ā
The second thing I noticed is the lack of contraction words. Iāve seen that none of my ChatGPT content generations have contractions and they āsoundā odd. So, used the shortened words where natural.
Should I give example? Here, is one: instead of āthey are confident about their success,ā use ātheyāre confident about their success.ā
Another thing I changed is passive voice sentences to active (where it made sense).
These are not tricks to confuse AI checkers and pass AI as human. These are just general tips to write like human conversations, so your content is naturally human.
AI is good at content creation. Itās just not human enough to be human.
Now, does that mean I am discarding my AI tools for good? Naah, AI has assisted me well.
Today morning itself, I used it for ad targeting ideas. I set up proper FB ads myself, from scratch. Anmol showed the ropes three weeks ago.
My entire Sunday went in that. Half spent in procrastination actually.
Itās overwhelming you know. Sooooo many settings. It felt like a tough job. Like that first drive, first swim, first every task.
Things get easy only after you take the first step. Still, I feel I am not cut out for paid marketing. It feels out of my comfort zone. I never feel like doing the āmarketingā part. I know what to do, just donāt want to do them.
I like the content creation part more, you know. Iāll write. Iāll do the design thingy. But promoting them, I just don't have the heart for that!
Itās just creation, creation, creation.
And things are working out little by little. Bing is ranking many of my articles on top. Not first position, but yeah first 3-5 for the relevant keywords.
See the clickthrough rates (CTRs) below, of my top current site visits.
And itās not only ranking that gave me hope; the blog itself is a keyword.
BookBlabber is a keyword now. Not a brand yet, I knowā¦ Still, Iām happy peeps ārememberā the site somewhat. I wonder if Google users are going to search for BookBlabber anytime soon.
My merch store is also building some bookish fame, by the way.
Last week, I made my first search-based sale. It came from Bing. Again. Shopify showed itā¦ that the customer came through Bing.
And I made another sale today, right while writing this newsletter. A few minutes ago.
This customer came through Google.
So, I guess my content game is good. If only I stick long enough, maybe, just maybe, I can start getting regular sales.
Doesnāt work always, though.
A few months ago, I āimprovedā an article on Gaur Gopal Das Quotes. Itās an article that included quotes from Lifeās Amazing Secrets book.
The article was ranking on several keywords that I didnāt have mentioned. So, I extended the article.
And?
The average ranking position has slipped down. From an average position of 4.5, itās now at 7.2.
Once upon a time, it used to be at 2-3 usually, with snippet positions for a few keywords.
Letās see what to do about that.
We are solopreneurs. We create problems and solve them... To create some more.
For now, I might focus on my merch store blog for a few days. For the book blog, I created 20+ articles this month.
So, let me know if you have blog ideas to increase sales. Any ideas and every idea is welcome.
Taking your leave!
Bidding adieu. Enjoy your day. Live long and prosper.
