Are No-Code tools the right choice for you?
Hey,
Today is the day when I share the articles I liked last week. So, taking a break from the "Branding on a Shoestring" series.
But first, let me tell you something about the No-code tools.
Many no-code tools are being promoted as something you can use to build your empire. You can use them to create software for your startup, mobile apps for your business, or a website for your services.
Yep, of course you can.
Lego blocks can create an entire city, without getting your hands dirty with clay and water (or other building materials). But your imagination is restricted to the available Lego blocks.
Similarly, you can use No-code tools to have an app, software or website.
But they're like Lego blocks you drag and drop to create your design. If you need some features not available with that tool, you can't have those.
Yes, you can find a tool which helps you include all the features you want. But the no-code tools won't allow you any customisation outside of the blocks they have. In case a tool allows code customisations, it isn't no-code. Such tools should be called low-code tools.
So, are the no-code tools worth nothing? Na, na, na.
As Canva helps anyone design graphics, no-code tools can help startups and businesses have in-house "developers". But for a truly custom development, they'll need someone who can code the project for them.
