Heyaa Bee
This week went off fast. Super fast actually. Everything was a blur. Not because I was sick. I wasnāt. Not a bit. Except for some occasional bouts of cough, things have been pretty normal.
I'd say it was a good week. Read a book, updated an article, and completed a few tasks off my list.
Among the most important things I accomplished was that I was able to format Be a Product That Grows and publish it to Amazon.
But before that, I had to list the first book as number one in the series and remove some inconsistencies in formatting and punctuation. I noticed those only when I was editing my second book while trying to stay consistent with the first bookās style.
Errors are common, right? You miss a period here, a semi-colon there. You add an extra space or change the alignment accidentally. Saw those things only when I was trying hard to maintain the formatting style.
So, before publishing the second book, I uploaded the new file of the first book to Amazon.. And by Friday, both books in the series were live on Amazon marketplace.
Also, took the early access page offline. I couldnāt have kept it live anyway if I wanted to list the book under Kindle Unlimited (KU). Amazon will de-list it if they found the ebook being online somewhere else.
Having the ebook on KU has its benefits, too. Lets KU users read it for free. So, I prefer keeping it there.
Not that Iāve found readers that way. But there havenāt been a lot of buyers anyway.
Destination: Death had a better success than this. I was better able to promote it, and it was easier to reach out to people who actually read books.
Readers of non-fiction books arenāt always book-binging, after all. Most people read such books slowly, taking their time and making notes. So, itās tough to find suitable readers⦠fast.
Iām a lazy person, and Iāve the attention span of a squirrel. I canāt stay on one project for long. So, I didnāt promote the book for long. A month maybe.
Iām not sure how long Iāll be talking about this book as well. A week more perhaps. I have to start working on the third book of the series. From the next month. And publish it by ā25 end.
The long-time goal is to write only fiction (as of now). Itās more fascinating⦠to read, write and discuss fictional stories. As long as I was interested in freelance writing, I was interested in books around that craft. Now, I havenāt read any non-fic this year. There maybe was one.
This year, because of focusing only on fiction stories, Iāve been able to read 20+ books already. And many of these books were of around 300-400 pages. So, thatās definitely an upgrade over the past years.
Iām just hoping to read more books this year than I buy. And honestly, I havenāt bought any physical book this year yet. Iāve, though, collected plenty of books via Kindle deals. And I might not be able to bring the numbers down. But yeah, my physical TBR will surely be under control.
In the meantime, Iāve updated my author page with the latest book as well. At least, thereās this site that silently keeps my books promoting.
I know, I need to promote my books more. Thatās the only way I can get more sales as an indie author.
But yeah, I love the creating part more. Writing, I mean. I have several ideas to turn into books. And then try to generate more to create a proper novel. You canāt hang onto just one thing, right?
I feel like am among those who throw all darts at once, hoping one will hit the bullās eye. I think thatās how I love to live.
So, time to take some rest⦠and then procrastinate a bit⦠before I pick up the next book to write.
See you next week.
Bidding adieu. Enjoy your day. Live long and prosper.
