Heyaa
Itās Dec 08, 19.02 hours⦠and Iām finally getting some serious work done.
It was a day full of streaming. Mostly mindless scrolling through Reels and Shorts. Choosing what to watch on Prime or Netflix needs too much of brain usage.
Currently, Iām listening toā¦
Yeah, same song as the previous week. Days are easy when you donāt have anything to decide.
The cold and fever made sure it was a good Sunday. Spent my day with water, tea and ORS. Eating seemed painful. As if the entire organ system have gone lazy.
I think the EV ride ruined my fragile body. Else it would have been a pretty normal Sunday today.
Went on a 2-day trip to Ayodhya⦠for those who donāt know⦠it was for Ram mandir darshan.
It went pretty well. Got the wheelchair assistance and had the darshan in like 25-30 minutes. Parents had to take a separate queue midway, and they returned after 10 more minutes. It wasnāt a lot crowded at that particular evening hour.
Also enjoyed the e-rickshaw ride to the entrance. And also back hotel. Around an hour of enjoying the December air, wearing a half tee.
All things done, returned home after two day. Caught a mild fever a day later. One more day later, here I am. With a runny nose and a box of tissues.
No regrets, though!
Loved the break. Even though it wasnāt much of a break. Carried on with client work as usual. I think I may never retire from daily grunt. Even though I have dreams for the retirement phase.
You know, I thought Iād write this newsletter in Fredrik Backmanās storytelling style.
I love his work. Read his latest work - The Answer is No - a 60-page novella. And I know five more people who loved it. Itās free with Prime Reading and Kindle Unlimited for now
And Iām asking you to read it.
I so wanted to write this newsletter in his deep but relaxed and humorous style. For practice actually. Iām thinking about writing a novel in that style. I have an idea that will go well with that style.
But looks like time isnāt right. The brain isnāt braining currently. All clotted with cough and cold. Might try the next time.
Did ask ChatGPT for suggestions with an earlier newsletter.
What it recreated looked pretty similar to what I already do. And not Backman-esque. The structure looked similar actually. The tone was slightly different. More philosophical like Backman.
Then, I asked it to write the newsletter in third person, like a proper story. And boy, that was impressive. It was definitely Backman like. Not a perfect rendition but still melodic. Yeah, it felt soothing and melodic. Not all haphazard⦠the way I am.
Need to work a lot if I want to adapt to a new writing style. Whatever you see now, is a mix of suggestions from different people in the last 5-6 years. Plus, some copywriting lessons.
Actually, I have been able to change the style to suit different projects. And learned that one thing my writing lacks is authority. Tried but couldnāt show power and leadership if a particular project needed.
Have been doing well with writing focused on aam janta (and not executives).
Oh, I took another attempt at attracting more janta to my store. This time with a book giveaway - Nothing Like the Movies - a contemporary rom-com.
Itās on until Dec 25, and the more you like, comment and share, the higher your points will be. Merch buyers will get exxxtra points. That bookstagrammer I collabed with suggested this point-style contest. Glad I wonāt have to do lottery to pick the winner
Anmol will take care of shipping the book and the goodies. Iām managing the online interaction as much as possible. Did notice some follower growth even though none of them have shopped yet.
Hoping the follower growth boosts my morale by year end.
Will take your leave for the week. Itās getting tough to continue typing anything more.
Bidding adieu. Enjoy your day. Live long and prosper.
